Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Periodic Service

Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Periodic Service

The following is the step by step process involved in the periodic maintenance of  a Chevrolet Cruze 2.0 Diesel.

The customer booked his appointment on the Cartisan app and the Cartisan service team arrived at the customer’s location on the specified date and time.

The car was parked in the parking lot. The Cartisan service vehicle pulled up next to it so that the tools could be taken out. The bonnet of the Cruze was popped open and the service began.

First the Cartisan Service advisor and technician carried out a series of functional tests against a digital 50 point inspection list. The vehicle is prepared for service

Next, the air filter was removed from the air filter box and it looked clogged. A new air filter was placed inside the air filter box.

The oil filter was then removed from the engine block.

The car was then propped up on a stand so that the technician could remove the engine oil drain nut from underneath the engine block and drain the oil completely.

After the oil was drained and the drain nut was screwed back in place, 6.5L of fresh Shell Fully Synthetic Engine Oil was poured into the car’s engine.

A new oil filter was placed inside the engine block.

The technician then sets about removing the wheels, one at a time, to clean the brake pads. The brake pads are removed from the calipers and are cleaned with sandpaper. The caliper pins are greased and then the caliper is bolted back onto the rotor.

While the brake pads are cleaned, the wiper wash reservoir is topped up with wiper wash fluid.

The AC filter was removed from behind the dashboard. Being a washable filter, the technician dusted it, rinsed it in water, and placed it back inside the car.

The coolant reservoir is topped up with 1 liter coolant.

The battery is tested to check whether it’s in good condition. The multimeter is connected and the readings show approximately 12V. When the engine is cranked, the voltage readings don’t drop below 10V. This indicates that the battery is good.

Finally, a drive test is carried out to confirm there were no other issues in the vehicle. It was observed that there was no requirement for alignment and balancing for this car.
